About
Hi, I’m Jeff, and I’m passionate about helping you find lasting solutions so you can lead a more fulfilling life. I will partner with you as a trusted resource and guide so that we can overcome your emotional and physical struggles together.
Because you’re an individual with unique experiences, we’ll work together to create a custom care plan designed to meet your specific needs and goals. In other words, I’m not just going to follow a formula—I’m going to do what it takes to help you succeed.
All of our work together begins with a foundation in psychotherapy, and when appropriate, we can build on that using an integrative approach that includes nutrition and exercise.
But this isn’t how I always approached my practice.
Earlier in my career, I offered more traditional psychotherapy that just focused on the mind. I received a BA in Psychology from Syracuse University, along with a Masters in Clinical Social Work from New York University. I loved my practice, but more and more, I realized the limitations of only focusing on the mind left me with some cases where people weren’t getting the complete results they wanted.
They struggled with maintaining a healthy weight, being consistent with their exercise program, and generally staying on track making healthy changes. They wanted to change but were frustrated with being unable to make the progress they knew they needed to. It was clear this was negatively affecting their emotional and physical well being, and they were looking to me for guidance.
And then it dawned on me.
What if I could work with their minds and bodies simultaneously?!
People’s problems aren’t one dimensional –they are multilayered. And because these problems are multilayered, they require an approach that considers the whole individual. So I decided I needed to create a new way of tackling people’s issues –a new set of tools designed to help optimize both physical and emotional well being.
Since there were no other options available that included everything I wanted to offer clients, I knew I’d have to create a new method on my own. That’s when I made the decision to get my Masters in Nutrition from New York University, and earned an Advanced Certificate in Exercise Science and Personal Training from the Swedish Institute.
Now, I offer psychotherapy with the option to add fitness and nutrition counseling. As a result, you have access to a unique continuum of care designed to address the complex relationship between your mind and your body.
In essence, you get what you need for lasting change—the tools and strategies to create the fulfilling life you’ve always wanted.
